The Pit & Nightmare Dungeons — Your Post-Cap Progression Roadmap

Atualizado 2026-07-19 · Um guia original do D4 Forge

Once you hit the level cap the obvious question is "now what?". The answer is simple: run The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons and grow your character in stages. This guide lays out that order.

The loop at a glance

  1. Hit max level, then finish the skill and Paragon setup from your build guide
  2. Fill out your gear in Nightmare Dungeons (aspects and affixes per slot)
  3. Enter The Pit and climb tiers to unlock Torment difficulties
  4. Use The Pit for glyph leveling and masterworking materials
  5. Repeat steps 2–4 at higher Torment until your gear is finished

Torment difficulty — why climb it

Torment makes monsters stronger, but in exchange drop quality and material income rise sharply. Higher Torment tiers unlock by clearing Pit tiers (the exact tier required is shown in the in-game difficulty selector). Rather than forcing the highest Torment, farm at the highest difficulty you can clear reliably without dying — that is where efficiency actually lives.

The Pit

A tiered activity where you kill monsters against a timer and then a boss. Enter through the obelisk in town.

  • Glyph leveling — Clearing The Pit lets you feed experience into Paragon glyphs. Higher tiers have a better upgrade success rate, so start with your build's key glyphs. Which glyphs you need is in the Paragon tab of each build guide.
  • Masterworking materials — The Pit is the main source of materials for masterworking gear. See the masterworking guide for how to spend them.
  • Choosing a tier — The efficient band is whatever you clear comfortably in 3–5 minutes. If the timer is tight, drop a tier.

Nightmare Dungeons

Nightmare Sigils reopen ordinary dungeons in an empowered form. The affixes on the sigil (monster buffs and environmental effects) change both difficulty and how fun the run is.

  • Gear farming — Legendaries, uniques and materials drop well. Collect aspects and cross-check the aspect codex against your build guide to complete your gear.
  • Experience — Also efficient for filling out Paragon points.
  • Sigils to skip — Throw away sigils with affixes that gut your build (resistance reduction, no resurrection, and so on). Sigils are consumables; do not be precious about them.

Worth running alongside

  • Helltide — A recurring open-world event that showers you with gear and materials. See the Helltide and World Boss guide.
  • Lair Bosses — Essential if you are after a specific unique. See the boss guide.
  • Seasonal content — Seasonal currency and rewards accelerate progression a lot. See the Season 14 guide.

If you get stuck, check these

  1. Build completeness — Confirm your skills, Paragon and aspects match the guide. One missing key aspect can halve your damage.
  2. Survivability — Too little maximum life, resistance or armor and you die instantly. Shore up defensive rolls through tempering.
  3. Glyph levels — Low glyphs tank the value of a Paragon board. Run more Pit and level your key glyphs first.
